Reserves and Patron Requests

If you wish to borrow an item that is currently checked out, you can place a reserve on it. If no one else has reserved the item, it will be held in your name after it has been returned to the library. If more than one patron has reserved the item, your name will be added to the waiting list. In either case, the library will call you when the item is ready for pick-up. Reserved items will be held at the Check-out desk for three days.

Reserves can be placed at the Check-out, Youth Services or Reference desks. They may be placed by Westmont Library cardholders only.

The library staff welcomes patron suggestions for titles, subscriptions, etc. The staff responsible for specific areas of the collection evaluate such suggestions and decide if the material fits the criteria of our collection development policy. In many cases, when patrons ask for newly published books, these become suggestions for purchase, since it is difficult to obtain the material any other way. You can make suggestions at any of the public service desks.
