Westmont Public Library

I. Library Cards
a. Residents of the Village of Westmont, paying taxes to the Westmont Public Library, receive a library card at no additional fee.
b. Non-resident library card (Family) annual fee: $139.00
c. One week Guest card (in-house use only) $1.00
d. Replacement of lost or damaged borrower’s card: $2.00
II. Non-compliance fines
a. Overdue Westmont Public Library (WPL) materials: $0.15 per day after a two-day grace period. Days on which the library is closed are not included in the calculation of overdue fines of Westmont materials.
b. Overdue reciprocal borrowing materials: $0.15 per day with no grace period.
c. Overdue Reference materials: $0.50 per hour.
d. Lost or damaged WPL materials (all items except pamphlets): replacement cost plus $5.00. The patron will not be charged over-due fines and will, in all cases, be given a receipt. If lost material is found and returned within a month of the date of the receipt, a refund will be made, less the processing fee, upon presentation of the receipt. No refunds will be made after one month of the date of payment.
e. Lost or damaged pamphlets: $1.00
f. For each account sent to the collection agency: $25.00
g. Checks returned from the bank with non-sufficient funds: $20.00
h. Borrowing privileges will be suspended when an individual’s fines reach $5.00.
i. Reciprocal borrowing and Interlibrary Loan privileges will be suspended at the discretion of the Administrative Librarian if they have been abused.
j. Overtime for Meeting Room use: $50.00 for every hour or fraction thereof.
III. Fee based services
a. Rental copies: $0.25 per day after a one-day grace period. Days on which the library is closed are not included in the calculation of rental fee.
b. Out-of-State Interlibrary Loan materials: $3.00 per item
c. Printer and photocopier costs: $0.10 per black on white page.
d. Color printer costs: $0.50 per page.
e. Meeting Room Use: $25.00 per meeting
IV. SLS Fines and Fees
a. Overdue Interlibrary Loan materials: $0.15 per day with no grace period.
b. Lost or damaged Interlibrary Loan materials: billing will come from the Suburban Library System (SLS), which sets policy and facilitates Interlibrary Loans.
c. Reciprocal borrowing and Interlibrary Loan privileges will be suspended by SLS if they have been abused.
