Labor Day Closings
The Westmont Public Library will be closed on Sunday, September 5th and Monday, September 6th.
Plaza Construction
Work on the library’s plaza is scheduled to begin in September and go through November. Several projects will be completed after being put on hold last year due to the new roof installation. This fall, we will go ahead with plans to add a canopy to the entryway, re-construct the front steps to the building, and improve the drainage system. During construction, traffic into the library may be re-routed, but there are currently no plans to close the building during regular service hours. If you have questions or concerns regarding construction, please contact Christine Kuhn, Library Director.
Library to Create Westmont Cookbook
Calling all cooks, bakers, and chefs! The Friends of the Westmont Public Library are planning a community cookbook fundraiser and we need your favorite recipes. Community chefs and local celebrities will also be asked to contribute. All contributors will be noted with each recipe and in a contributor's index. An online form for your submission can be found here.
Written Surveys in Homes this Fall
As the board of trustees look to the future, they are seeking the input of Westmont residents. Brief, six-question surveys were posted on our website and in the building for three weeks this summer to help gauge how our users view current library services. As a follow-up, a longer, written survey is being mailed to 1,000 random homes within Westmont and being placed within the building. Any Westmont resident is invited to fill out the survey and lend their input to the future of WPL.
